Special thanks to Luigi, Leon, Elliott, and Kai. "I Care," depicts an economy of care surrounding human relationships and materiality through colonial objects and my personal relationship with Alona Delaguardia, an all-around (term used in the Philippines for house-help with various responsibilities) who has been an integral part of my family and home. Further inspired by domestic workers, the service industry, and hospitality, this film intends to widen our understanding of empathy. It calls for us not to fear the honest, emotional, and messy humanity, hopefully allowing us to embrace its rawness in a digital world lacking it.
